Sports Injury Physiotherapy in Cairo: What Should a Program Include?
اقرأ المقال بالعربيةSuccessful sports rehabilitation is not one machine or a pain-relief session. It begins with functional diagnosis, rebuilds movement, strength and fitness, and progresses to sport-specific training and competition exposure.
Assessment
The therapist reviews injury mechanism, pain, swelling, motion, strength, gait and running. Findings that may need imaging or orthopaedic review include inability to bear weight, deformity, true locking, major instability or suspected fracture or complete rupture.
Measurable goals
Useful markers include range of motion, muscle strength, squatting, hopping, running and cutting capacity. Repeated measures show whether the plan is working.
Load management
Prolonged complete rest reduces fitness, while sudden return can trigger symptoms. Training volume, speed and intensity are rebuilt according to the 24-hour response.
Strength and movement control
Rehabilitation targets the injured region and the whole kinetic chain. A knee injury may require quadriceps, hip, calf and trunk strength plus control during landing, deceleration and rotation. Balance alone is not enough for a high-speed sport.
Return to running and sport
Progression moves from basic tasks to straight-line running, faster efforts, jumping, cutting and contact where relevant. Returning to team training does not automatically mean match readiness; exposure should be rebuilt.
Reducing reinjury risk
Footwear, surface, training schedule, sleep and recovery are reviewed and a continuing strength program is taught. Risk cannot be eliminated, but modifiable factors can be addressed.
Manual therapy, dry needling, kinesio taping, electrotherapy or therapeutic ultrasound may support selected symptoms at PhysioTech. They do not replace strength, loading and sport training.
When choosing a clinic, ask about assessment time, individual sessions, objective testing, home exercise, return-to-sport criteria and communication with the doctor or coach. Be cautious with fixed recovery promises.
PhysioTech in Zahraa El Maadi, Cairo, provides individual sports rehabilitation from acute injury to return-to-running and sport testing.
